Baptism, Communion, Confirmation: ceremonies that never come back. And often the only chance to get three generations in the same photograph.
A baptism, a first communion, or a confirmation brings together, in the same church, different generations of the same family: grandparents, parents, godparents, siblings. It's a rare occasion, and once it has passed, there's no photographing it after the fact.
Photographing a religious rite means moving constantly, but never stopping the scene: I move along the aisle, between the pews, near the altar to find the right angle, without ever asking for a pose or interrupting the service. The difference shows most in the images of the ceremony itself, where nothing is staged for the camera.
I work on a simple principle: the story comes before the camera. I follow the rite naturally, moving between Bollate and the province of Milan, and I take my time afterward to work on every image with care.

The First Contact
You write to tell me about the ceremony: which rite it is, where it's held, how many people will attend. I get a sense of what you need and explain how I work, so you arrive at the ceremony without a single worry about the photography.
The Morning
Getting Ready
The morning begins at home, in the quiet that only familiar walls can give. The white dress laid out on the bed, the little shoes lined up, the last details arranged with held breath. Getting dressed is such an intimate, special moment that, even before anyone leaves the house, it already gives the most authentic and spontaneous family shots of the day. The wait outside the church afterward is just the crowning moment of that private ritual.
The Central Moment
The Rite in Church
The gesture of the sacrament — water on the head for Baptism, the host for Communion, the laying on of hands for Confirmation — is the heart of the ceremony. I move discreetly, without an intrusive flash, so I never disturb the solemnity of the moment.

Family Portraits
Parents, godfather and godmother, grandparents, siblings: a few minutes for a carefully composed family portrait, before the day moves on to the celebration. Simple moments, with no forced poses.

The reception or lunch with family and friends, toasts, smiles, the child playing with cousins. I photograph this moment too, with the same attention I brought to the church.

About Me
David Golzio — photographer in Bollate and Milan
I live and work in Bollate, on the edge of Milan, where over the years I've built part of my work around family religious ceremonies. Baptisms, communions, confirmations: every rite has its own language, and I've learned to read it by working in churches throughout the area.
Alongside this, I run a personal art project called "Hybrid Metaphotography," where I combine traditional photography with artificial intelligence to explore the line between the real and the imagined. It's a world away from a baptism shoot, but the same care for composition and light applies to both.

Yes. The Standard and Complete packages already include coverage of the reception or family lunch. With the Basic package, or for Communion and Confirmation, it can be added on request when you get your quote.
Do you offer prints and photo albums?
Yes. Beyond the digital link, I offer high-quality prints and photo books made with fine materials, so you can have the photos in print, too. This service is requested separately.
Can the service be customized?
Absolutely. Every ceremony is unique, and the photography service can be adapted to your specific needs, including special locations, personalized portraits, or additional services.
Do you photograph outside Milan?
Yes, I work throughout the province of Milan and across Lombardy. For ceremonies outside the region, only a travel fee is added, communicated transparently in the quote before you confirm anything.
